泰山职业技术学院目前有近20000名在校生（其中大三以上近7000人）。学生来自31省市区全国各地。
泰山职业技术学院的办学宗旨是“培养德智体全面发展的复合型人才”。学院以工学、理学、文史、体育教育4大学部门作为整体布局，形成了以工、理、文史3大板块作为核心内容的办学特色。
泰山职业技术学院依托雄厚的师资力量和完备的教学条件，开发出了一批特色明显、门类齐全的课程体系。目前已开发出逾600门课程（含通识教育课程200门以上）。
